Civil Project Manager

Building & Land Engineering - Plainville, CT - Full Time

Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking a Project Manager for our Building & Land Engineering Division in our Plainville or Groton, CT location. This position will provide managerial leadership and overall direction on projects. The Project Manager will oversee construction efforts to ensure that a project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule

What You’ll Do

  • Identify prospective clients and, in conjunction with senior management, arrange to make proposals

  • Prepare proposal estimates of time and expenses required to complete projects

  • Participate in presenting proposals to clients

  • Participate in selecting the project team

  • Determine major project design decisions in conjunction with client and Project Officer

  • Assign duties to the project team, answer questions, and monitor progress

  • Check the accuracy of completed work

  • Maintain a close relationship with the client throughout project development and after completion

  • Provide administrative supervision of assigned staff, including performance feedback and advancement recommendations

  • Ensure that work is performed safely, in accordance with the firm’s safety policies and procedures

  • Maintain full responsibility for project scope, schedule, and budget

  • Perform other related work as apparent or assigned

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and registration or eligibility for registration in Connecticut

  • 8–10 years of experience in engineering design within your area of expertise

  • For construction professionals: bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, with thorough knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and methods from 8–10 years of experience

  • Eligibility for appropriate professional certification in your specialty

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards

  • Ability to push, pull, and place materials on level surfaces and overhead cabinets

  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains

  • Adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment
